AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
I just got back from seeing The Avengers...GO SEE IT! Sorry, that is my new automatic response...as you can tell, I enjoyed it GREATLY. So...let's review it, shall we?
First off, as always, plot synopsis and history. The Avengers were first seen in comics inside The Avengers #1 on September 1963. I would discuss more about the comics, but they aren't important to the movie...ironically. This movie is the culmination of the movies Iron Man 1 and 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. If you haven't seen them...you may want to first, since it helps understand the characters. The plot is actually fairly stock; bad things are coming and the worlds greatest heroes team up to stop it. But it is one heck of a ride!
Ok, in an attempt to be spoiler free, I'll keep this brief. THIS MOVIE IS EXCELLENCE ITSELF! Honestly, this is the greatest comic book movie I've ever seen. The characters are believable, the villain is menacing, the writing is top notch, the effects are great, the action is great, the 3D is...passable, and...It's a PERFECT FILM! ...now that my inner fanboy is done rambling, lets slow down. First, if you thought Thor was a funny movie, this will have you an the FLOOR laughing! I know that's weird to say about a comic book movie, but it's true! The writing for this movie is outstanding! In a cast this large everyone feels equally important...even Hawkeye and Black Widow! They are ALL equal, which is what you need in a team movie. The cinematography is good...but there are a couple of problems. Very small problems. One or two of the fight scenes are very close up and jumpy, making it hard to follow. Also, the shaky cam is used once or twice, which I personally hate. But both are used very quickly, and the majority of the movie is better. Also, this movie STARTS with the action! There are some slower scenes, but there is action through out the film! Lastly, this film is also dramatic. By the end you REALLY want our heroes to win. They earn their titles of Avengers...
Ok...negatives. ...None here. NEXT! No, seriously there are a couple MINOR things. One, the story is pretty basic and stock. It works, and has some GREAT dialogue, but it still feels like a very basic story. Also, the villain isn't as big of a threat...oh, he's great, and menacing...but not that big of a threat. He just sets in motion the climax, and is taken out quite easily a few times. The movie is long, about two and a half hours, and the pacing is pretty fast paced. This can either be a good thing or a bad thing...the good part is that it holds your attention. The bad part is that it can get a little confusing at times. And as a completely fan boy bias negative...how come they never shout "Avengers Assemble!" Granted, that's the movies title in England, but why not ever use it in the actual movie? Again, these are MINOR things.
This is seriously one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. If you are a fan of comic book super heroes this is a MUST SEE! If you enjoyed other Marvel movies...MUST SEE! If you like movies...MUST SEE! If you are alive...MUST SEE! Ok...my point is that I love this movie. Hopeful you could gather something from my review to help you make a decision. Here's a hint...GO!
Word of Warning: Ok...this is a comic book movie. There is violence and death. But it isn't gory. There is NO sexual things at all...accept maybe a kiss, if I remember right. There is swearing, but most of it quick, minor stuff. There is one each of the two B words, but that is as strong as it gets. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Final Verdict: 10/10! (My MUST GO SEE THIS FILM IMMEDIATELY! award.)

Good review. For the past 4 years, Marvel has been building and building this movie up and it finally lives up to every promise ever made. It's fun, hilarious, action-packed, and filled with all of our favorite characters and superheros from these stories.
