Dragon Ball Super Episode 47 Review ...sorta
...Yeah, told you this wouldn't be up soon. E3 and all...by the way, Xenoverse 2 is looking sick! Back on point, I honestly don't have much to say about the episode. It was awesome, but it was all set up for the arc. So...I don't have a lot to talk about without just saying "Wow, that part was cool!" over and over again...
But I will say a few things. I thought the animation was on point, and the music was actually pretty decent. Nothing overly spectacular, but good.
The story and characters were all so cool...and kinda dark for Dragon Ball! If this is going the way I think, I'm going to enjoy this arc thoroughly. Lots of twist and turns I WASN'T Expecting.
The voice acting was on point, and the emotional scenes were conveyed REALLY well. Masako Nozawa as Black was quite chilling, hearing Goku's normally happy-go-lucky voice come out as the cold and methodical "Saiya-jin...". It gave me shivers.
I have no negatives, because the ones I have are story based, and may be resolved. So... well done, production team. Bravo.
I greatly enjoyed this episode and hope that the quality continues to stay high. I like Dragon Ball, and it's been killing me to have a show that was subpar story wise and WELL below par production wise for the first two arcs. But with the Universe 6 arc and ESPECIALLY this new one, I think things are looking bright.

Dragon Ball Super Episode 46 Review
Hey, I actually got this one out when I said I would! ...odd. Well, here's the finale to the Grape Jello Saga! ...I have no regrets.
The animation in this episode was a little hit or miss to me, with more misses than hits, to be frank. Nothing as infamous as episode 5, thankfully, but some off model shenanigans hang about. The music, on the other hand, was quite a step up for the offerings lately. Nothing really too memorable, but some good choices and arrangements. All in all, not too shabby.
Story wise...it's really just the fight between Goku and Purple Vegeta. As a side note, apparently people are calling him Vegello or something? Clever, but I'm sticking with Purple Vegeta. So while that IS the bulk of the episode, there's also some stuff going on with Trunks trying an alternative method to save his dad, or at the least slow the process. And everything with Trunks in this episode was fantastic. And we really get a good, emotional scene at the end when Vegeta desperately tries to save Trunks, even at the cost of his own life. I know, it's not anything really new, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly.
Which leads into some of the stuff I REALLY liked. Number 1 for me is that scene I mentioned. It was absolutely beautiful. Also, the fact that Vegeta didn't know what a pacifier was until AFTER he already had willingly put one in his mouth was priceless. The fact that it is Monaka that saves the day is both hilarious and awesome, as was Goku's reaction to Monaka saving the day. Lastly, the scene at the end to tease Future Trunks... AWESOME! Why he has blue hair is a mystery that may never be addressed in show, but it still got the hype train roarin! THE HYPE IS REAL!
Negatives...the animation. honestly, it was lacking here. Also, the fight between Goku and Purple Vegeta was very disappointing. Most of it happens off screen... or too fast to see anything but small explosions. Considering that this fight was what they were building up to in the past two episodes, the fact that it's over so fast with us seeing so little is definitely disappointing.
In the end, though, I really enjoyed this mini arc quite a bit. It may have been only filler, but it was still very enjoyable and didn't overstay it's welcome. But the hype train hits max speed next week when we see what's become of Future Trunks, how he get together with Mai, why Future Bulma looks younger than she did before, and how many horribly racist jokes will be said about "Black Goku". See you then!
